Where are you climate chancellor? – A100 blocked repeatedly

Berlin, June 30.06.2022, 8 00:XNUMX a.m. – For the second day in a row, last generation climate activists are bringing traffic to a standstill on Berlin's A100 city highway. With the peaceful disruption of everyday life, citizens are once again making demands on Chancellor Scholz: The 'Climate Chancellor' should live up to his name and speak out against new oil drilling in the North Sea.

June 30.06.2022, 6 - 100 citizens block the AXNUMX Sachsendamm to the west.

Henning Jeschke (22), co-initiator of the Last Generation, who spent 27 days on hunger strike before the federal election, on today's blockades:

“What we are doing here is out of desperation. It must be clear to Mr. Scholz that his current course is costing human lives both today and in the future! Whoever is chancellor at this time must be climate chancellor! Every day makes the world hotter and costs us a piece of our livelihood! Where is Olaf?!”

Leah Bonasera (24), was already in public dialogue with Olaf Scholz in November and co-founded the Last Generation:

“We demand a word of power from the self-proclaimed 'climate chancellor' Olaf Scholz. He should speak out clearly against new oil drilling in the North Sea. There needs to be a drastic change now. We have to save oil instead of drilling for new oil! Simple ways would be a speed limit and free public transport.”

During yesterday's motorway blockades, a climate activist was kicked in the head while he was sitting on the asphalt. The result was bruising in the eye area. The supporters of the last generation are still determined to peacefully do everything in their power to prevent climate collapse.

Since last week, the initiative has repeatedly drawn attention to itself with blockade and resistance actions in Berlin. An end will only be in sight if Chancellor Olaf Scholz makes a statement. Until then, the citizens' movement continues to ask the question: “Where are you, Climate Chancellor?”
