In the Netherlands, peaceful civil resistance has recently achieved impressive success. Parliament passed a decision ordering the government to come up with a plan to end all fossil fuel subsidies.

"In Germany we are talking about an incredible 65 billion euros in environmentally harmful subsidies. To ensure that this world does not continue to die out of our hands, it is necessary for Germany to completely phase out coal, oil and gas by 2030 at the latest. It goes without saying that subsidies for these harmful energy sources should now be reduced to zero as quickly as possible."
