Berlin, October 24.10.2023, 09, 00:XNUMX a.m – With at least three dozen supporters, the Last Generation has just occupied the A100 in the Goerdeler Steg area. They give a foretaste of the planned mass occupation of the Street of June 17th next Saturday, October 28.10.2023th, XNUMX. In addition to Last Generation, other climate justice groups are also mobilizing for this event. Even Extinction Rebellion Netherlands have announced their coming.

In the Netherlands, peaceful civil resistance has recently achieved impressive success. After Extinction Rebellion Netherlands managed to block the A27 motorway in The Hague for 12 consecutive days with sometimes thousands of demonstrators, politicians gave in and decided to implement their demands. Parliament passed a decision ordering the government to come up with a plan to end all fossil fuel subsidies.

A plan that is urgently needed in Germany. Marion Fabian, spokesperson for the Last Generation:
"In Germany we are talking about an incredible 65 billion euros in environmentally harmful subsidies. To ensure that this world does not continue to die out of our hands, it is necessary for Germany to completely phase out coal, oil and gas by 2030 at the latest. It goes without saying that subsidies for these harmful energy sources should now be reduced to zero as quickly as possible."
