June 20.06.2023, XNUMX, Gelsenkirchen - On Tuesday evening, four citizens of the last generation tried to interrupt the international match between Germany and Colombia in the VELTINS Arena in front of the tipping points because the federal government continues to fuel the climate catastrophe with coal from Colombia.

Malte Nierobisch also climbed over the boards today, ran onto the field and tried to attach himself to the goal with cable ties. All four wore T-shirts with the slogan “Last Generation – Stop the Fossil Madness!”

"With their policies, Chancellor Scholz and his government support the exploitation of people and the environment in the Global South. Coal imports from countries such as Colombia not only promote human rights violations and colonial exploitation, but they also fuel the destruction of all of our livelihoods. I cannot continue to accept this injustice. “Climate Chancellor” Scholz must finally put an end to this fossil madness.", explained Painted Nierobisch his protest.

On June 10.06th, 40 people from various climate protection movements in Essen showed solidarity with the Yukpa from Colombia and spoke out in favor of phasing out fossil fuels.

As citizens, we call on the federal government to call an emergency meeting of society in order to initiate the necessary turnaround with the democratic participation of a loose average of the population. The company council is developing a decisive plan for how Germany will end the use of fossil raw materials by 2030. This plan should be developed by citizens, supported by society and implemented by politicians.
