Berlin, June 17.11.2022, 08, 30:XNUMX a.m – This morning, Last Generation supporters are once again blocking traffic near Berlin Central Station. In doing so, they are peacefully resisting government failure in the climate catastrophe. For them it is literally about survival and the continued existence of our civilization. In return, they accept financial ruin, defamation and physical violence and even the threat of weeks of imprisonment.
You see yourself in the certainty that you are on the right side. The constitutional state's undignified handling of the democratic form of protest is currently unbearable - which is why it is now being sharply criticized by Germany's largest environmental organizations.

In a statement published on Monday by, among others, the WWF, the NABU and Greenpeace, which together have almost two million members in Germany, it says: “As environmental associations, we oppose attempts to blanketly criminalize taking action against the climate crisis and legitimate forms of protest such as non-violent civil disobedience. It is time to discuss effective climate protection instead of defaming concerned citizens. "
Because the actual violation of the law at issue here is that of the federal government to the detriment of future generations, which was determined by the Federal Constitutional Court over a year ago - without any real consequences for political decision-makers.
For the signatories of the declaration it is clear: “The federal government must stop breaking the law and now present an immediate climate program that is compatible with Paris. This would be an adequate response to the protests of the climate movement. "

Because it cannot stand by as the government ignores both scientific facts and valid case law and pushes us unchecked toward deadly tipping points, broke Judith, 42 years old, from her everyday life and put up peaceful resistance in Munich. The mother of two has now been locked up for two weeks.
She knew that this could happen, and yet she didn't give up.
"Just thinking about my children, there is no other option than hope. I hope society sees through the absurdity of the situation. That everyone understands how bizarre it is that those who warn of the catastrophe are being locked away unhindered by those who cause it. Above all, I hope and believe that many will also decide to take to the streets and that we can avert the catastrophe together. "

The attempts at defamation by numerous politicians and the media are shameful and revealing. They are concerned with saving face, power and profits – at any price. The last generation and the climate protection movement as a whole are about much more.
speaker Aimee van Baalen puts this in clear words: “It's about the survival of all of us. We have to talk about it and we have to secure it. Let us stand up for this together – peacefully, decisively and unignorably! "
