Berlin, October 19.10.2022, 09, 10:XNUMX a.m – In the middle of the city center, people of the last generation pause their everyday lives and sit on Torstrasse and Landsberger Allee. During the morning rush hour, seven bridges over the A100 were climbed.
"We need the disruption of everyday life to initiate change. We must come together as a society and decide together, democratically, what the change to a better world should look like. That's why we're taking the resistance into the city center of Berlin today", explained Jacob Beyer, speaker of the Last Generation.
During a blockade in front of Berlin Central Station last Monday, four Berliners spontaneously sat down with the people who were already stuck there. Another stood protectively behind a taped Last Generation supporter.
A paramedic who happened to be there said about the action: “That’s just very brave. I think the topic should definitely receive more attention. I thought it was really great to see an emergency lane being created."
The question facing citizens is: What if the government doesn't have it under control? There is not much time left to bring about change, as the first tipping points of the climate system will be passed in just a few years. But it's not too late yet.
Every Thursday & Sunday on Zoom!
A lecture about the climate catastrophe, the denial of reality and the possibility of taking responsibility at this unique time in human history. The first step to take action!
