Central blockade A103/A100 – “The decision is now made”

15.07.2022, 8: 00 clock - While there is a water crisis in Europe, citizens of the last generation are currently once again peacefully resisting the fueling of climate catastrophe on the A103 in Berlin. They call on their fellow human beings to join their civil resistance against the destruction of our livelihoods. Because despite dry rivers, global hunger catastrophes and deadly heat waves, the Scholz government is further fueling the climate crisis.

Lea Bonasera (24), co-founder of Last Generation, while peacefully blocking the A100 today: "In times of famine disasters, deadly heat and Water emergency we are forced to decide. Either we drastically reduce our greenhouse gas emissions immediately or this is our new everyday life. We can no longer stand by and watch our government continue to drill for oil! Resist!”

“We don’t need any new oil from the North Sea or any new liquefied natural gas terminals on land. We can ensure our supply without this by finally introducing decisive austerity measures. Such as a speed limit and free public transport.”

After repeated blockades throughout the city over the past four weeks, citizens came together today to form a central blockade at the Schöneberg motorway junction between the A100 and A103. And thus once again made the highways the central place for peaceful civil resistance. Several people stuck themselves to the street again in order to create as much disruption as possible. In addition, some citizens walked through the waiting rows of cars. They held up posters with personal messages that expressed their desperation and fear in the face of the impending climate collapse.
