The evening before, university president Hauke ​​Heekeren had made this statement in a personal conversation with the occupiers. In doing so, he has once again confirmed what he had already told the Hamburger Abendblatt: He sees the need to publicly address Robert Habeck - as requested - with the message that new North Sea oil is not compatible with preserving humanity's livelihood.not as a task of the university".
At the same time, other participants in the university occupation posted messages with spray chalk inside the Audimax foyer such as “Last Generation” and “Stop the fossil fuel madness” until they were stopped by the police.
Including Jana Mestmäcker, psychologist, alumna of the University of Hamburg:
"Who should speak out against the federal government's fossil fuel madness if not the president of a university of excellence for sustainability? I cannot accept that my old university simply allows the irreparable destruction of our livelihood to happen. "
Since Monday lunchtime, Audimax II had been occupied under the demand that the university president publicly speak out against new North Sea oil and for life.
