Reminders to banks, government buildings, corporations – Last Generation announces solidarity actions across Germany for Saturday

25.3.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX - Tue Last Generation announces nationwide actions for tomorrow, Saturday, March 26th. The target of the actions will be banks, governments and corporations that finance the expansion and deadly use of fossil fuels worldwide. In dozens of cities, citizens will put posters with scientific facts about the climate crisis on buildings.

“We will give those responsible a lesson on Saturday. Their billions of dollars in investments in fossil fuels are the trigger for global mass extinction, conflicts and wars. They enrich themselves by the suffering of millions of people today and billions of people tomorrow. This fossil madness must be stopped immediately!” says Carla Rochel, 20 years old.

With their actions, citizens stand in solidarity behind the demands of the Last Generation to the federal government: “Immediately stop the financing and expansion of new infrastructure for fossil oil, coal and fossil gas.”

Last Saturday, March 19.3th, there was a solidarity campaign with the last generation in Berlin. People put up posters at several German bank branches and then positioned themselves in front of them. The posters included, among other things, quotes from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's latest report, which emphasize the urgency of decisive action on the climate crisis.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres was quoted as saying: “This abandonment of leadership is criminal."
