Midday (SPD) on the climate emergency: “We have had completely different crises”

Berlin. The conversation between Susanne Mittag, nutrition policy spokeswoman for the SPD in the Bundestag, and representatives of the last generation ended on Wednesday morning without a time commitment for a mandatory food-saving law.

We are heading full speed towards the destruction of our society and the SPD continues to deny the emergency: “We have had completely different crises,” says Susanne Mittag, the party’s food policy spokeswoman, in an interview with Last Generation this morning.

The climate crisis threatens to cause crop failures, food prices will rise dramatically and poorer people will be hit first. Where is social justice, Mr. Chancellor?

“It is clear: the government is not saving us. Peaceful resistance is our only chance to mitigate the climate crisis.” says Lea Bonasera after the conversation. “Tomorrow afternoon the Last Generation will also speak to Renate Künaster (Greens). The FDP condemns saving food.

The federal government is ignoring the decisions of the democratic body Citizens' Climate Assembly. Whose decisions want an overwhelming majority of 80% of the population see implemented. The government is trampling on the will of the people and driving the population into the abyss.

At the same time as the conversation took place, the Last Generation blocked the three largest airports in the Federal Republic of Germany in Berlin, Frankfurt am Main and Munich. A federal government that is unwilling to take the first, almost symbolic step to contain the climate catastrophe in Germany in a timely manner is letting its citizens down. We have to realize that the catastrophic consequences of the climate crisis with hunger and unbearable heat, flight and displacement of billions of people will also meet us.
