The paint was removed after just one hour and in the presence of the climate activists. Nevertheless, the Berlin police accused the activists of damaging property and expelled them.

After they wanted to continue their protest against the new federal government's inadequate plans for dealing with the climate crisis, they were arrested.

All five women are sitting in solitary cells in Berlin-Tempelhof. A judge will now decide whether they will remain in custody.
